Varicocele Embolization
For the treatment of testicular varicoceles
A varicocele is caused by one or more abnormal veins within the scrotum. This causes blood to flow backwards and “pool” in the vein, which becomes enlarged and forms a bulge. They are similar in nature to varicose veins, and can feel like a “bundle of worms” within the testicle. The condition may cause one side of the scrotum to hang lower than the other side.
If a varicocele is not causing any symptoms or affecting your sperm count/quality, no treatment may be necessary. However, some may experience pain, testicular shrinking or infertility caused by the varicocele and may require treatment.
